This September, 835 Spring Street in Jeffersonville Indiana will seem strangely quiet. For the past two decades this location has been home to one of the most amazing haunted attractions the midwest ever had to offer.
Beginning in 1995, Industrial Terrorplex Jeffersonville Indiana, was known as Industrial Nightmare. This haunted house provided thousands of Indiana residents with exciting Halloween themed entertainment.
Constructed in the 1930’s, the building originally belonged to Louisville company M. Fine and Sons. The building was then subsequently opened as a shirt factory.
In the years to follow there were recurring rumors of a young girl who supposedly died inside the building. Her spirit is rumored to still haunt the 50,000 square foot building! This tale only serves to add to the creepy atmosphere for any business moving into the old building!
The building was home to multiple businesses and served many purposes throughout the nearly fifty year period following the closing of the shirt factory.
Industrial Nightmare opened in the old factory building in 1995. This haunted house was completely state of the art! This haunted attraction was defiantly seeking to thrill and chill it’s guests!
The sound system and sets were like nothing Indiana haunted house fans had ever encountered before or again!

Favorite slasher movie villains such as Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Dr. Frankenstein greeted visitors from their own dioramas. After waiting their turn in this elaborately themed queue area, visitors entered through the massive double doors into what was known as “The Mother of All Haunted Houses”
True to it’s name, Industrial Nightmare took visitors through a haunted factory run amok. The average guest could expect to take approximately twenty minutes to complete their journey through Industrial Terrorplex! Along the way they would encounter a nuclear power plant. Things had gone very wrong In there! Guests also became witnesses to botched surgical experiments. There was even a giant toxic cesspool, complete with giant creatures and much, much more!
In later years, the haunted attraction wanted to scare even more. Several additional attractions were added, including “Pitch Black”, “Detentions”, “Carnevil” and “Infected”
Todd Moore purchased the building and the attraction in 2005. Todd set about implementing some updates and changes. Industrial Nightmare was featured on the 2011 Hauntcon convention Friday night tour along with Fear Fair – Indiana’s Scariest Haunted House. Shortly after the tour the owners changed the name to Industrial Terrorplex Jeffersonville Indiana.
The area surrounding Industrial Terrorplex in Jeffersonville Indiana was targeted for a huge urban redevelopment project in later 2014. With redevelopment projects such as senior living literally surrounding the massive building, it became obvious that the he seasonal attraction simply did not fit into the plan. Halloween night 2015 was the final bow for Industrial Terrorplex and Jeffersonville, Indiana lost a long time tourist draw. Local television stations were on hand and covered the closing.
